The Ministry of Water & Sanitation and Irrigation is hosting the Kenya Sanitation Conference for the first time, between 28th and 31st October 2019.
The Conference aims at providing a forum for safe, practical, scalable, sustainable and innovative solutions towards containment, collection, transport, treatment, disposal, resource recovery and reuse of wastewater and sludge in both rural and urban settings, and in both domestic and industrial wastewater contexts.
CETRAD is participating in this conference to demonstrate the status of sanitation in Kenya as per the Kenya Census Data 2009. The Socio-Economic Atlas of Kenya is available online via this link http://www.kenya-atlas.org for more elaborate details on six chapters covered in the atlas.
CETRAD booth was one of the place that the H.E. Deputy President, Dr. William Ruto visited while doing the chief guest exhibition tour before officially opening the The Kenya Sanitation Conference 2019.
CETRAD runs a rich hydromet data and information base generated from its long term and comprehensive monitoring network in the upper Ewaso Ngiro North river basin. Most of this data is now linked through a real time transmission system and interfaced to its database as well as to some selected Water Resources Users Associations (WRUAs) in the upstream areas.
