Integrated Water Resources Management

Course Objectives and Resource Persons

This is a 2 weeks course offered in September/October every year. The main objective of the IWRM course is to identify, synthesise and understand water resources management challenges, and how to use IWRM as a vehicle to help meet those challenges. The course is facilitated by Prof. Mathew Chemelil (Egerton University), Prof. Japheth Onyando (Egerton University), Eng. Michael Kariuki Thomas (Rural Focus) and Dr. Boniface Kiteme (CETRAD), with additional case study inputs from invited guest speakers.

Eligibility

The course targets officers from government departments and parastatals, as well as those in non government institutions dealing with water resources management in challenging environments. The minimum qualification requirement is an ordinary diploma in water resources management or related fields.
